Galaxy 19 problems

I wonder if anyone else is having problems with G19 and weak signals?

I have tried 3 new LNB's (Including an Invacom), 3 different
receivers,
moved the antenna, changed IF cable, etc. Nothing has worked. I used
to receive Russia Today and Al Jazeera like gangbusters, but just
the last month or so things have gone downhill. I contacted one of
the
programmers and he said he contacted the uplink and they say
everything is normal.

Just wondering if anyone else is finding problems with G19?

BTW, my antenna has a rotator, and the other satellites are
coming in like gangbusters.

Sold my MPEG receiver...but if you are receiving other digital birds
OK....then this would suggest:

1. Dish not fully tuned into this bird,

2. Polarity is off, or

3. Outside interference.

Have you tried tweaking the polarity???

Well, tried all that but upon closer inspection it appears a distant
tree branch may be in the way, and the higher frequency transducers
appear to be most affected.

Looks like I will have to move the antenna again and I ordered
purchased a HOTDISH 90 and will install that one in a clear spot.

Apparently the branch grew into the line of sight in the last month or
so, and the other sats are in the clear line of sight... Oh well,
it's going to be quite a project...

Thanks for the suggestions....

HOTDISH 90
That's a Ku band dish....with a C-Band dish (8' or larger), this would
make a world of difference.

If you could find an used 7.5 foot hydro-formed solid metal dish, your
reception would be great.

I'm using currently a 10 foot solid dish....and reception on any
visible bird is not a problem.

Digital signals have to be tuned in finer...on the money...even with
bigger BUD dishes....or you loose the signal.

I already have a 10 foot mesh dish, and am thinking of putting one
of those new LNBF's on it so you don't have to mechanically switch
the polarity on the Ku birds. In fact, i think I'll order one today,
but to change
out the feedhorn will be quite a project then to realign everything
is quite a job for this old man.

If you see a 7.5' metal hydro-formed dish not being used....inquire
about it.

They are top performers, imho...and will kick that 10' meshes butt.

I've setup one for my brother-in-law years ago, and it is similiar to
my 10' fiberglass dish in performance...

Make sure the feedhorn is set to right distance away from dish...in
the heyday of installing BUDs, there were a number of "idiot"
installers who just threw it together. This 7.5' metal hydro-formed I
got my brother-in-law was setup wrong....but in those days of 2 degree
spacing, it didn't matter much.

Use the spec sheet for setting up feedhorn distance...

I thought those channels were on intelsat AMC5. That's where I get them.
